Words mean things. That’s why I wish to discuss the concept today of “Wealth Management” simply by using the old-fashioned, American Heritage Dictionary. The best way to describe this concept is to take one word at a time.
Let’s discuss what “wealth” really is: “(a) an abundance of valuable material possessions or resources; riches, (b) the state the state of being rich; affluence, (c) the profusion of abundance.” Is that you? Is that what you are trying to get? Is that where you are today? You have what you have. The question is: what do you Do with what you have? Because, is this really you: a profusion of abundance, rich affluence, is that you?
Let’s look at “management: (a) the act, manner, or practice of managing; handling, supervision or controlling, (b) the person or persons who control or direct a business establishment and organization or an institution.” I think the keyword here is controlling. The first question here is: do you truly have wealth, or are you just trying to build a nest egg so you can live the life that you want? You realize you will never have an unending amount of abundance. Second, do you want to take what you’ve worked so hard for and place it in the hands of someone who is simply controlling your money? Because you probably don’t have an “overabundance of riches”.
This is where we’re different. We don’t create a plan for you to follow. We help You create a plan with some direction and guidance to get from Point A to Point B (where you want to be in life). So, if you hear the words “wealth management”, is that really what you are looking for, or are you looking for a guide to get you where you would like to go? If you’re the latter, perhaps it’s time to schedule your Financialoscopy®.
