I remember running some relay races and the strategy that was implemented in the order of the runners. Are you running the lead-off leg, the 2nd, the 3rd or are you running the anchor leg? I began to think, what leg of your financial race are you running? What strategy are you implementing at this point?
Prior to race day, all the dedication and training has been put in to prepare yourself for the race. The success of the race had a lot to do with the training and preparation that you and your team had done for weeks, months and even years prior to this moment. I remember visualizing the finish line and the goal of crossing the finish line with a new personal record.
Now, as I advise and strategize for people in many different “legs” of life, we talk through and implement many strategies. We discuss what leg of life a person is in, we visualize the end goal, we set up strategies to not only have a goal to shoot for but to also enjoy life along the way. Just as every race requires a different strategy, each person and family require a unique strategy that will fit them.
I have enjoyed building lasting relationships with so many people and even strategizing as we hand the baton to the next generation. The reality is that not many people have a strategy and just hope for a good end result as they do not know where to start. Ask yourself, “what is my strategy?” If you don’t have a strategy or you just don’t have a person that you can talk through a strategy with, let’s partner together today. Let’s put the pieces together today for you and your families’ different legs of life.
