Let’s discuss leadership. More specifically, what does it mean to be a leader, how do you become a leader, or how can you strive to be a better leader? The best way I can explain it is by taking each of the letters in the word “LEADER” and providing you with a word that describes leadership ability.
L – Legacy. Are you looking at life as just today, just this moment, or are you looking at the impact that you can make throughout your entire life? What about the impact you can make beyond your life in this world? What legacy will you be remembered for?
E- Eliminate. Eliminate those things from your life that don’t matter. Eliminate those small tasks that you should be hiring out to someone else who loves doing them. Eliminate the mess out of your life because you only have so many days here, and we know the years in front of us only become shorter and shorter. You need to eliminate those things if you want to fully utilize your time and reach your highest potential.
A – Automate. There are certain procedures that you should put in your life as a business leader that just automatically happen. Every single morning, I meet with my team, and we discuss items that should automatically happen for our clients when they are here because we want people to have the best experience possible. We do that by being consistent with the items or information that we give to clients when they are here. We don’t just make things up. We have systems in place so that everyone is treated their best.
D – Delegate. You cannot do everything yourself. You have to embrace your team. You need to let go of the reins. If you have hired appropriately, you should be able to delegate duties so that they will be taken care of for you. You should be able to sit back and be in awe of what your team can do. Allow them to have that responsibility. Delegate that responsibility to them and watch what happens.
E - (be) Engaged. Make certain that you understand what’s going on around you and that you are engaged with your life, family, friends, team members, and clients. Do you know what’s going on in their lives? Are you engaged or are you just watching the world go by?
R – Reinvest. Reinvest in what you love. If somebody asks you a question about what excites you, they should be able to see the excitement in your eyes. They should be able to hear the passion in your voice. They should see that you are becoming more and more enthused as you discuss what it is that you love. Find what you love and invest your time, energy, and money in those things.
These are not all of the abilities needed to be a good leader, but these are things that you can implement today that can make a difference in your life and in the life of others. If you like the way that we think, it might be time for you to connect with us and schedule your Financialoscopy®.
