“all the time” was the reply. “me too”, I said. As our conversation continued, we realized why we had wondered about the “how”. Because, all of the lives, each of us touched so many people over the course of a day, a week, a month or a year. We had repeatedly walked that road with others.
I’ve known couples who have just begun their lives together. I’ve walked with them, as they started their families, celebrated the joyous times and have also walked the heartbreak of pain and death.
I have earned letters of designations behind my name, securities’ registrations and insurance licenses that authorizes me to discuss and inform clients of choices that are available to help to them plan, prosper and protect their lives.
But generationally, my wisdom has also grown over the years. It sometimes provides an uncomfortable prospective filling in the cracks when knowledge alone sometimes leaves a void. Wisdom makes knowledge so much more useful.
Tomorrow afternoon a new chapter begins for a young client of mine. His parents have been clients of mine for over three decades. His grandparents were clients of mine and now as he and his bride confirm their union, in front of family and friends. We will all be blessed during the celebration of the hopeful possibilities of their future lives together.
And with knowledge and with wisdom, I will continue my task of helping yet, another generation to plan, prosper and protect their future family. It’s a huge responsibility; yet, a responsibility I am so honored to have to help guide them to plan, prosper and protect everything that they hold so dear.
