I was having a conversation with a client today and it was a conversation about just embracing the goofy. Sometimes, you just need to look at life differently; with a different attitude; with a different perspective. This is something we try to do on a regular basis.
When you come in to our office, as you meet with our office manager, before your very first visit with an advisor here with the Financialoscopy team, this is what you’re going to be seeing in the reception area: you are going to be seeing the Financialoscopy Lab sign at the entrance to our “lab”. You are going to be seeing lab coats. You’re going to be seeing emojis. We have everything from anger, which is what you may experience prior to visiting with us. Sometimes, it’s going to be a little bit like the goofy emoji, sometimes there’s love, and there’s shock and happiness all the way through.
I want to walk through the things that we do that are very mature, very important, and very focused on what your life is. You might have an idea of embracing the goofiness and the uplifting spirit here at our office, but when it gets down to “brass-tacks” or gets down to it, there is a very focused view from our team in how we look at the world.
I will use our office lab tools as an example. I don’t even know what that tool is with the blue band and the mirror that doctors will use to look into your eyes, but we want you to know that we are looking. We are looking deeply in to your goals, and we are looking deeply to examine your own individual situation, very similar to what a doctor would do during an examination. Hopefully, the doctor or primary care physician that you have is not grouping you together and giving you the same medications or recommendations that he/she is giving hundreds of other people. Hopefully, you have a doctor that is looking at you as an individual and putting together a plan of action for you.
Another tool in our example would be our stethoscope. It’s very important that a doctor not only listens to what is going on inside of you, but it’s also important that they sit back and quiet themselves, ask questions, and listen to you. What is going on in your life? What are the problems? What are the possibilities? What are the hopes? What are the dreams? Sometimes, what are the realities? This can sometimes be a difficult discussion that needs to take place. It is not unusual for a meeting to get very emotional, and it is not uncommon for several times a month that a tear will come to an eye because of something they are concerned about, or a tear will come because of a celebration of something wonderful that has happened in their lives. Here’s the important thing: we listen. You are given the opportunity to share with us what you want, and what’s going on in your life.
You may enter into the Financialoscopy Lab to speak with the team, and we might be a little corny sometimes with our lab coats, emojis, and doctor tools, but at the beginning of our day it is about focus. It’s about the focus on you: what you’re all about, what you want to accomplish, what your dreams are, what your hopes are, and what are the concerns you have along the way. Know that we are serious and have a mature attitude. Know that we have decades of experience, but also know that coming and visiting with the Financialoscopy team also means that it can be fun, it can be joyful, and it can be uplifting.
